The Poem Series: I am not long here

I don’t belong here

I am a torn being

Tugged between two lands

Not giving either my full care.

Seasons change on this domain,

And I move forward, every day,

With desires unfulfilled

With every beat a small step towards

The golden streets of tomorrow

I am not made for here

With Every small victory gained

I look upwards to remind me

I have purpose here

Every breath, every love, every loss, every care, every intimacy and every joy is valid

But will not remain

I am not long here

My Spirit is forever stretching outwards

Towards the heavens

Yearning, and pulling and drawing away from here

But the heaviness of the earth weighs me down

Pulls me back, and in turn reminds me

That one day it will let me go

The Poem Series: His Love

I love you

Like the waters deep so strong

And bottomless and with a pressure

You cannot hold

Mysteries abound themselves from me to you

I love you through the sun

And the rain, the leaves that fall and grow,

Delicate shells, intricate beyond knowing

I love you in the mountains rumble

I love you in your love,

That surrounds you,

Lovers and children and family and friends

All I can through them

I love you through words

Learning and knowledge all gained through pages

the poems, the lyrics, the novel of cunning and romance

Its all for you

I love you through all you touch,

Rough and dimpled surfaces

The raw invigorating wind and

Warm sun that kisses your skin to freckle

The goose bumps on your skin as you reach for me

show you I am there

I love you through sounds

Laughter and crescendos are all for you

I whisper love to you as you sleep

I love you through tunes sweet and soft

Through songs that drag you away to another place

Closer to me

I love you through taste and smell

Food and flowers and herbs and nature all for

You to enjoy, my love

To absorb in wonder

I love you when you turn

And fall and stumble

I am the one picking you up and wiping your tears and

Shame, guilt away

I put you back on your feet

And love you as you blossom again

How could you miss it?

Its all for you

Surrounding you, filling you in every moment

Dark and light and taste and sight

Sound and touch, conversations and glances

In working and resting, in toil and in your hallelujahs

In singing and sighing, in warmth and chills

Sleeping and waking and all in between

In age and youth and health and illness

In life and death and grief and joy

In the mundane and in the breathtaking

It’s always there for you

Love never ending

The Poem Series: Autumn

Hand and hand we step out

On a transparent autumn morning

We walk to the silent beat

When you breathe in and I breathe out

We read the leaves in the open air season

You hold my hand, your touch is a story

I read you with fluency, not in your words

But in the lines on your face and between the lashes of your eyes

We walk, crunching surrendered leaves underfoot

And when the wind comes and blows summer away

You lead me back to the place we know

So wait up

The Poem Series: Edge of the Sea

We’re standing on the edge of the sea

The sun is falling into the

Swirling spirals of the pulling waters,
The sunset haze kisses our faces

We’re one and two, separate and joined

I cling to you

My thoughts bruised black and blue

Waiting for the current to pull away these

Feelings of unease and knots that hold me

Release until I am just beside you

Subdued memories swept away

With the pull of the waves

Until they are only a distant swell

A drifting weed sinking to the depths -

We are the new

Sun warm dipping into the earth

Drawn away till all that’s left

Is me and you in the approaching shadows

Out by the darkening sea where the tide is out

Where no one knows our names
